So here we are again. A new city, a new people. Lake Elsinore is very different from Long Beach. There are mountains here. You can really tell how close we are to Mexico as well. The Mexican culture permeates the city. It makes for an oddly unique blend.
Our hosts, @MONEKE and Margaret, have been so much more than gracious. Moneke has shown us around the town, and it’s really gorgeous here. The mountains lay in the background of every direction. These are not the same kind of mountains I grew used to in the Appalachian Chain. These mountains are a different animal entirely, with more topography and structure, less jutting edges.
Tonight, I believe, Moneke will be cutting my hair(thank God!). It’s gotten a bit long for my tastes and she is a jack of all trades, so I’m getting it taken care of.
Time Warner Cable has given us hell in a basket, as far as internet goes. For some reason we just can’t make a router work with it. I’ll keep fighting with it, but getting these blogs up was more important.
We’ll have pictures and video up later today, I’ll throw some links and such into this when we do.
